CURRENT SPECIAL REGULATIONS DUE TO "CORONA

By order of the authorities, special rules are currently in force at Cologne Zoo. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause:

Proof of a negative test or immunisation is not required.

There is no mask requirement on the outdoor area (we recommend wearing a mask on the outdoor area).

Indoor premises there is a requirement to wear a medical mask (children under 7 are exempt).

The majority of the animal houses are open with a visitor cap. Masks are compulsory in the houses.  The aquarium still has to remain closed for the time being due to the insufficient number of possible visitors (according to the protection order).

The side entrance is open. Here, masks are compulsory for entry and exit and a reservation must be shown in addition to the valid entrance ticket.

Importantly, anyone wishing to visit the zoo currently needs not only a valid admission ticket (permanent or day ticket) but also a "reservation ticket" purchased free of charge in advance for the relevant day of the visit.

We kindly ask you to only order as many online reservation tickets as you need. Make good use of your reservation. Otherwise you will deprive the zoo of revenue and other interested parties of the chance to visit. For more information, please see our FAQ on opening.

The online reservation tool can be found at www.koelnerzoo.de/reservierung-en. A limited number of reservations are available for schools and daycare centers.

As an exceptional service, we offer a telephone reservation option exclusively for people who do not have the technical facilities to make an online reservation. To do so, please call 0221 /77 85 100. Your reservation will then be deposited at the visitor service desk at the main entrance and you can pick it up there on the day of your visit.

The playgrounds are open. The general spacing rules for carers apply here.

Unfortunately, commented feedings have to be cancelled.

The Zoo gastronomy offers snacks "to go" at various snack bars.

The ZooShop at the main entrance is open  (masks required).

We ask for your understanding that, in order to avoid oncoming traffic, the visit can only take place along the classic circular route signage (counter-clockwise). Please note our routing and special signposting!

Normal ticket rates apply (exception: we do not offer group rates as group admission is currently not possible under the general contact closure.
