All animal enclosures, including the aquarium, close 30 minutes before the end of opening hours.

News from the Zoo
Fall and Spring Storms
The Cologne Zoo maintains its valuable tree population with the utmost care in accordance with legal regulations.
However, in times of changing climatic conditions and increasingly frequent storms, falling branches or even trees toppling over can never be completely ruled out. We appreciate your understanding.

ZOO GOES SUSTAINABLE
We are committed to species conservation and environmental protection. We lead or support more than 20 conservation projects worldwide – as well as here at the zoo through sustainable business practices. We have outlined our goals and initiatives in our sustainability strategy, and our entire organization is involved in implementing it.
Animal Fun
Whether it’s the „culinary“ antics at Baboon Rock or the meerkats‘ predatory hunt for the best treats – watching the animals during feeding time is a blast!

Between 2009 and 2025 alone, the Cologne Zoo supported various species conservation projects around the world – from Belize to Swaziland, from Brazil to Vietnam, and from Cologne-Dünnwald to Cologne-Weidenpesch.
