Highlight unter den Dino-Skulpturen ist der 15 Meter hohe und 35 Meter lange Argentinosaurus. Er steht auf der Wiese in der Mitte des Zoos am Alten Elefantenhaus. In seinen Dimensionen ebenso imposant ist der 3,5 Meter hohe und 12 Meter lange Tyrannosaurus Rex – eindrucksvoll in Szene gesetzt auf dem großen Zoo-Weiher. Seine Riesen-Fleischfresser-Zähne zeigt der Velociraptor vis a vis der Greifvogel-Anlage. Der 7 Meter lange Hypselosaurus im Gehege der Flamingos, der 8 Meter umfassende Europasaurus am Haupteingang oder der 10 Meter lange Triceratops inklusive Jungtier in Nähe der Tapir-Außenanlage sorgen ebenfalls für große Augen unter großen und kleinen Zoo-Gästen.
Der überwiegende Teil der Skulpturen wurde extra für den Kölner Zoo gefertigt und aus Übersee eingeschifft. Der Zoo kooperiert dafür mit dem US-amerikanischen Unternehmen „Dino Don“, dem weltweit größten Anbieter von Dinosaurier-Schauen.

I Must See This – Showtime: Another highlight and a real eye-catcher among the Dinoworld offerings at the zoo is the “Dino VR Experience” by the VR experts at “TimeRide”.
Guests embark on a 7-minute virtual reality time-travel journey into the distant past at the Old Elephant House.
Recommended for children aged 6 and over.
The expedition, using a VR headset, takes you millions of years back from our time right into the midst of the dinosaurs. The virtual reality experience follows the rise of the dinos on land, in the air, and in the water – until the end of their reign about 66 million years ago. Narrating this captivating time journey is Cologne’s bestselling author Frank Schätzing.

It is the first time in its long history that the Cologne Zoo has its own Panini album – a true delight for collectors. The album offers space for 260 collectible stickers on 48 pages featuring “Marlar”, “Hennes” & Co. Additionally, there are three special pages for Dinoworld Cologne. The anniversary sticker album was printed at the traditional Panini printing house in Modena, Italy.
